Choosing the Right
Tube Material:
Hypalon vs. PVC
When selecting a rigid inflatable boat (RIB), one of the most important choices is the tube material. We offer two options: Hypalon and PVC. Each has its place depending on your intended use.
PVC – Economy Option
PVC is an affordable choice suitable
for light recreational use:
Best for boats used less than 30 hours per year
Must be stored under cover when not in use
Not recommended for prolonged sun exposure or harsh environments
⚠️ Please note:
PVC is more sensitive to UV rays and chemical exposure. It may degrade faster without proper care.
Hypalon – Premium & Durable
Hypalon is the premium choice for those seeking long-term durability and ease of maintenance:
Resistant to UV and chemicals
Much easier to clean and maintain
Ideal for frequent use and demanding environments
🌴 Important:
If you plan to use your boat in tropical or high-UV regions, Hypalon is the only recommended option.
Upgrading our tender was a game changer as liveaboard sailors, we went from nearly sinking in our old tender during our grocery runs to 40 mile runs off shore spearfishing in our Highfield Classic 340. Having a reliable tender is a must when cruising full time.

We sailed around the world and we couldn’t be happier of our decision with the dinghy! It has been by far the best companion for our circumnavigation. Amazing quality, durability and must of all safety and fun! Thank you Highfield
