More than 350,000 spectators lined the legendary exit channel and the beaches to bid farewell to the skippers on Sunday the 6th of November for the start of the eighth eidition of the Vendée Globe.
The huge legions of impassioned spectators, ashore and afloat as well as the 29 intreprid solo skippers who set off from Les Sables d’Olonne start line at 13:02 were treated to perfect weather conditions for the start of the legendary solo non stop round the world race.
All went perfectly well for our fleet of 42 Highfields that ensured the safe kick-off of the event.
