The 55th edition of the Barcolana, which attracts more entries than virtually any other sailing race in the world, has been the latest in a string of major events to sign a sponsorship deal with Highfield Boats.  Highfield, in association with Burin Boats, has provided a fleet of inflatable RIBs for on-the-water support at the spectacle whose 2023 edition hosted over 1800 entries last Sunday 8th October on Italy’s Gulf of Trieste.

The Barcolana joins an impressive line-up of global events partnered by Highfield RIB fleets. Most recently the company’s Official Supporter status was confirmed between Highfield France and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games with an unprecedented 90-plus boats to be delivered for a range of roles.  Highfield Boats is also proud to have had their fleets used by security, press, photographers and the race organisations at the Vendée Globe, the Route Du Rhum and a host of international yachting events like the Extreme Sailing Series and TP52 circuit.

Throughout Barcolana Week the fleet of eighteen Highfield boats equipped with Honda engines were used for press, hospitality and the organisation of the race. The RIBs included Highfield’s Sport and Patrol models ranging from the 660 to the 900. Customised especially for Barcolana 55, the exclusive RIBs now go on to new owners and while most are pre-sold some are still available.

Mathilde Delfour, Managing Director of Highfield Europe comments: “The Barcolana is one of the highlights of the European racing calendar for thousands of yachting enthusiasts.  We are very proud to have this amazing opportunity to showcase our range to them and to demonstrate the capabilities that Highfield Boats is renowned for.”

“Having our fleets present at the great racing events of the world truly demonstrates the trust that top regatta organisers have in Highfield Boats.  Our RIBs are chosen by professional race management teams for their known capabilities in every type of sea condition, providing a fast yet stable and comfortable platform for the race officials and every type of on-the-water function.”

“As previously we are once again pairing the Highfield brand with an organisation that shares our values of hard work and excellence while delivering quality but remembering that the ultimate goal is about enjoying time on the water.”

Highfield Boats, the leading manufacturer of aluminium RIBs, has just added two stunning models to its advanced Sport range.

The new Sport 560 (SP560) and Sport 800 (SP800) are making their autumn 2023 debut, showing off their cutting-edge styling and performance capability.

The Sport 560 is based on the proven pedigree of its predecessor’s acclaimed hull form, while boasting a sleek look that will turn heads, including a newly designed A-frame and carbon console, plus a host of onboard features to provide a smooth ride and a comfortable watersports platform for a family day out.

The Sport 800, meanwhile, echoes all the superior detailing of Highfield’s flagship Sport 900, but at a size which can easily be towed or launched from a drystack. The Sport 800 demonstrates amazing sea-keeping abilities and the many luxuries to be expected from a high-end product.  There is plenty of seating for family and friends, with a choice of configurations.  The easily accessed bathing platform and massive entertainment area, plus space for under-console toilet makes the Sport 800 a natural choice for a great day on the water. The added reassurance of a proven offshore hull design can let you explore far and wide in a range of conditions.

Both models are beautifully presented with no detail left out – brushed foam teak flooring throughout provides barefoot comfort, while superb diamond stitched upholstery finishes off the stylish interior. Highfield’s aluminium hulls are impermeable so there’s no chipping of gelcoat or worries about bringing the boat up a beach or onto a trailer.  Nothing is left to chance with a huge list of standard features, including the platform ladder and the Sport 800’s fridge-table and shower kit plus the practical considerations such as the lifting points and towing eyes and newly styled optional roll-bar on both models.

Mathilde Delfour, Managing Director Europe for Highfield Boats, comments “We are proud of both these new models in the Sport range which have moved into the future of onboard styling and with a packed choice of features for comfort.  Combined with the all-weather hull design the SP560 and SP800 both provide a versatile ride for crunching the miles as well as a great living space at anchor.”
