Under The Pole is a pioneering underwater exploration initiative founded in 2008 by French explorer Ghislain Bardout and photographer Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout. The program merges scientific research, innovation, and storytelling to explore and protect the oceans, especially in extreme environments like the Arctic, Antarctica, and deep tropical reefs. Using advanced diving techniques—including saturation diving—their team captures never-before-seen marine ecosystems, studying biodiversity, climate impacts, and human interaction with the underwater world.
