The Route du Rhum, established in 1978, is a solo, non-stop transatlantic yacht race held every four years. Competitors sail from Saint‑Malo, France to Pointe‑à‑Pitre, Guadeloupe, covering around 3,500 nautical miles in multiple boat classes—from foiling trimarans to monohulls.

For the 2022 Route du Rhum, Highfield Boats played a key role by providing an impressive fleet of 51 aluminium RIBs ranging from 6 to 7.6 metres. These rugged, deep-V hull boats were specially outfitted for race support and safety operations, helping to manage both the start in Saint-Malo and the finish in Guadeloupe. Each RIB was powered by Suzuki outboards ranging from 140 to 300 hp, delivering speed, control, and reliability in demanding sea conditions. The fleet included boats from Highfield’s Patrol and Sport ranges, reinforcing the brand’s strong presence in high-performance, professional marine events.
