Highfield Boats reaffirms its partnership with Suzuki for the 2022 Route du Rhum

Highfield Boats, one of the world’s leading aluminium RIB suppliers, has announced that it will be partnering Suzuki Marine for the second time, to provide a fleet of 51 Highfield RIBs to support the start line spectacle of the 2022 edition of the Route du Rhum.

The legendary single-handed race is set to get under way on 6th November this year when an expected fleet of more than 100 yachts will depart from St Malo, destination Guadeloupe. Highfield Boats are immensely proud to be an Official Partner to the event, providing this impressive fleet to support the start line spectacle.

The company’s partnership with Suzuki Marine will see the RIB fleet, which includes models from Highfield’s 6m to 7.60m range, powered by Suzuki 140-300 hp outboards.  Also amongst the fleet is the prestigious Highfield Sport 900, which will be powered by a Suzuki DF300AP featuring a double propellor. These high quality boats, built to an exceptional specification, have excellent sea-keeping capabilities and fuel capacity enabling them to rendez-vous with yachts from both the start and finish areas to many miles out to sea in offshore conditions.

While this is the second time that Highfield Boats has partnered with Suzuki for the event it will be third as Official Partner to the Route du Rhum and its organizer, OC Sport Pen Duick.  The roles of the RIBS will include the priority task of policing safety in the starting zone as the fleet departs from St Malo.  Part of this fleet will also be in Guadeloupe to accompany the arrivals of competitors across the Pointe à Pitre finish line.

Steve Harrison of Highfield Boats comments “ „We are very pleased to be renewing our partnership with both the Route du Rhum and with Suzuki Marine. Highfield Boats will once again provide the organization with a 51-strong fleet of high-quality RIBs powered by Suzuki outboards, whose combined performance and reliability are well established.”  He adds “The impressive track record of Highfield France is once again highlighted, showcasing their trusted ability to service such a large contract.  We are proud to be part of this legendary event whose values of daring to explore and pushing back the boundaries are core to our own.”

The boats in the Highfield fleet and their Suzuki engines will be sold following the event and reservations are now being taken.
